Substation Bus Bar Switching Systems

August 25 @ 9:00 am - August 29 @ 3:00 pm

KD 1400
Location: Cairo, Egypt

introduction
Electricity generation, transmission, and distribution entail transforming voltage levels to meet various operational requirements. This critical transformation occurs in substations, which can be designed as air-insulated (AIS) or gas-insulated (GIS). Substations are integral components in the electrical grid, housing multiple pieces of electrical equipment and protection devices such as power transformers, high-voltage circuit breakers, and disconnectors, to name a few. The configuration of substations, particularly the arrangement of busbars, is tailored to meet the utility companies’ specific needs, each offering distinct advantages.
OBJECTIVES
Participants attending this Substation Bus Bar Switching Systems training course will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the spectrum of substations and the corresponding equipment. They will learn to appreciate the unique advantages that each piece of equipment provides and will be adept in identifying and comparing various busbar switching configurations. Beyond recognition, the Substation Bus Bar Switching Systems training course will empower them to fine-tune the performance of these configurations to achieve optimal efficiency. Moreover, attendees will develop the competency to critically assess the increasingly pivotal role played by automation in the operation of modern substations. This holistic training course will equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to navigate and manage substation systems effectively.
